Representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) visited Tofig Yagublu, who is being treated at "City Hospital", APA reports.
Advisor to the chairman of TABIB Shahriyar Fatullayev said the patient's condition is assessed as satisfactory.
"As a doctor, we recommended an immediate cessation of starvation. Otherwise, the metabolic processes in the body may deepen during the starvation process. In his current condition, there is no danger to life. In general, Yagublu's condition is assessed as satisfactory - severe."
Rafael Mehdiyev, head of the Justice Ministry's Main Medical Department, said all necessary measures had been taken. "The hospital has created conditions. Although he does not receive food, he is given parenteral fluids. But each of us strongly advised him to stop severe starving."
"Tofig Yagublu has been on hunger strike for 16 days. We have repeatedly offered him to stop the hunger strike." This was stated by doctor Adil Geybulla, who spoke about Yagublu's condition.
"Against the background of the trust between T. Yagublu and me, I asked him to agree to the infusion and electrolyte transfer to prevent some complications, and he agreed. Today, the TABIB representatives got acquainted with the situation on the spot. Yagublu also continues to drink water. He is not demanded on eating, and the medicines given to him do not contain any food additives. I should also note that his family is informed about Yagublu's condition every day,"Geybulla added.
