Dashli volcano, which erupted at about 21:50 yesterday, is located in the oil and gas region of Baku archipelago”, said Orxan Abbasov, leading researcher of the Mud volcanism department of the ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics, APA reports.

He noted that the volcano locates in about 75 km southwest of Baku: “It is considered one of the active volcanoes of Azerbaijan. It has been known that the height of the flame column registered as a result of the strong eruption of the Dashli volcano was more than 500 m. This is most likely due to the fact that the volcano did not erupt for a long time and accumulated a lot of energy”.
