“During the Second Karabakh War, I met with captured Armenian servicemen, reminded them of their rights, and presented booklets on their rights in several languages,” said Azerbaijan’s Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, APA reports.

For comparison she noted that Armenia has not provided captured Azerbaijani servicemen with their rights: “I have prepared a report regarding this fact and sent it to international organizations. Armenia grossly violates the norms of international law. It is a requirement of international principles to inform family members about missing persons. This also includes information about the dead persons. Armenia has not yet provided information on the fate of seven peoplewho went missing in the Second Karabakh War.”
