“Armenian criminals who are in Azerbaijan now are not prisoners of war,” said chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev, APA’s Turkey bureau reports.

R. Rzayev noted that all of them illegally crossed Azerbaijani territory, wanted to commit provocations here, after Armenia signed capitulation act: “Therefore they were arrested. Convention on behavious with prisoners of war has nothing to do with them. Our law enforcement agencies have given a legal assessment to their crimes, the case has been brought to court and they have been punished. What Armenian side said does not have legal justification. Because captivity happens during the war. Although there is no peace agreement, after ceasefire we can not asset any of them as captive.”
