The visit of the delegation led by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Saint Peterburg in order to attend a conference of heads of European prosecutor's offices organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the Council of Europe, and the International Association of Prosecutors has started, the press service of Prosecutor's general Office told APA.

Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov informed about the role of the prosecutor's office in the protection of individual rights and public interests in the context of the requirements of the European Convention on Human Rights. In accordance with the appeals of modern times development of the prosecutor's office system, the role of the prosecutor's office in protecting human rights, the importance of developing multilateral cooperation between prosecutors in the fight against organized crime, including cybercrime, crimes using digital currencies and other areas was stressed.

On that day declaration on cooperation in the field of environmental protection and use of natural resources in the Caspian Sea has been signed between general prosecutors of Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
