"Research is being carried out in our country to identify various strains of the coronavirus," TABIB said in an answer to the query of APA.

According to TABIB, To date, the "Indian strain" (Delta) has not been officially recorded in the country.

"However, taking into account the epidemiological situation, it is recommended to follow the relevant rules of sanitation and hygiene,” according to TABIB.

Note that the Indian strain of coronavirus has been detected in more than 80 countries of the world so far. The variant has already been recorded in neighbor Georgia.

Indian strain differs for its faster spread in comparison with other variants of the coronavirus.

However, specialists note that vaccines applied against COVID-19 will also be effective against the strain in the same form.
