Tokyo 2020: Nine Azerbaijani judokas' licenses officially announced

The International Judo Federation (IJF) has announced the list of athletes who have qualified for the Tokyo Summer Olympics, APA reports.

Judokas from 110 countries received certificates based on the Olympic rankings.

9 members of the Azerbaijani national team among them. It has been officially announced that our men's national team will go to the Olympic Games with a full staff. Our judokas Karamat Huseynov (60 kg), Orkhan Safarov (66 kg), Rustam Orujov (73 kg), Murad Fatiyev (81 kg), Mammadali Mehdiyev (90 kg), Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) and Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg) have gained licenses.

In the women's national team, Aisha Gurbanli (48 kg) and Irina Kindzerska (78 kg) won the right to participate in Tokyo 2020.

Thus, the number of Azerbaijani athletes who won the right to participate in Tokyo 2020 has reached 39.
