Traffic movement to be restricted in some streets and avenues of Baku on January 20

Traffic movement will be restricted in some streets and avenues of capital regarding January 20 – National Mourning Day, the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA.

Starting from early hours on January 20, representatives of the Azerbaijani government and state, representatives of diplomatic corps, citizens will visit Alley of Martyrs, where victims of the 20 January tragedy were buried.

On January 20, from 07:00 in the morning until the end of the ceremony, the movement of cars on the streets intersecting with Parliament Avenue will be completely restricted. The restriction of movement is carried out in order to ensure the convenient, uninterrupted, and safe movement of citizens who will come to honor the memory of the victims of the tragedy of January 20.

In this regard, the movement of all vehicles will be limited from the intersection of Mikail Mushfig Street with Husein Javid Avenue, from the intersection of Mikail Mushfig's circle with Metbuat Avenue, on Mekhti Huseyn Street, from the Teleteatr building, from the intersection of Izzat Nabiyev and Abbasgulu Abbaszade streets, that is, sides of the administrative building of the Milli Mejlis in the direction of Parliament Avenue - Martyrs' Alley.

In this direction, it is recommended to use as few private cars as possible, to give preference to public transport.

Noted that in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the participants in the ceremony must maintain a social distance, use medical masks without fail, and not walk in groups of more than five people.
