The European Union (EU) has expanded sanctions against Syria, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

The EU has added the name of the new Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad to the list of sanctions.

It should be noted that Mikdad was appointed to replace Walid Muallem, who died in mid-November last year.
