Member of the North Korean State Affairs Commission and Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un's sister Kim Yo-jong accused the United Nations (UN) Security Council (UNSC) of interfering in her country's internal affairs, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Her remarks came after the UNSC organized a meeting on North Korea's attempt to launch a surveillance satellite into orbit, which eventually failed. Kim also criticized the agency for not working independently but under pressure from the United States.

"I am very unpleased that the UNSC so often calls to account the DPRK's [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] exercise of its rights as a sovereign state at the request of the US, and bitterly condemn and reject it as the most unfair and biased act of interfering in its internal affairs and violating its sovereignty," her statement published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) read.
