Turkey increases import of Azerbaijani gas by 32%

During January – September of this year, Turkey imported more than 6.86 bln. cubic meters of natural gas which is 31.7% more than the relevant indicator for the same period of the past year, "APA-Economics" reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). Thereby, Azerbaijan occupies the second place in the general list of Turkey’s gas import sources.

Turkey imported 5.21 bln. cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan during January-September of the last year.

Russia occupies the first place among Turkey’s gas import sources, and approximately 11.62 bln. cubic meters of "blue fuel" were exported to Turkey from this country. And Iran which occupies the third place in the list of gas import sources transported more than 54.16 bln. cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey during the reporting period.

Note that during the past period of the current year the volume of gas imported to Turkey amounted to about 28.47 bln. cubic meters.
