Stabilization of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and its surrounding regions has allowed the start of work regarding the restoration of all economic and transport ties in the region, according to the review of the Russian Foreign Ministry's foreign policy activities for 2020, APA’s local bureau reports.
It was noted that a statement regarding the suspension of fire and military activity in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone has been approved on November 9 by Russian, Azerbaijani, and Armenian leaders: “A Russian peacekeeping contingent has been deployed along the line of contact and Lachin corridor, international humanitarian reaction center has been established. As a result, the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh and its surrounding regions has been stabilized. This allowed the start of work regarding restoration of all economic and transport ties in the region. Russia has taken part in activating the process of political settlement within the OSCE Minsk Group” noted in the review.
