"This is an internal issue of Russia. We do not see a threat of military aggression in terms of this mobilization," Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze told journalists in response to a question regarding the appearance of an armored personnel carrier at the "Zemo Larsi" checkpoint, APA reports citing Interpressnews.
As Burchuladze stated, control at the border checkpoints, including in Larsi, has been tightened.
As for the question asked about the entry of Russian citizens in high numbers, and whether it is a danger to the country, Burchuladze said that the theoretical risk always exists.
"We had strict control over the border checkpoints before too, as to where tourists were going, with what funds, etc. Today this control is tightened with even more resources and we see no threats at this stage. If you ask me individually whether all citizens of Russia have good faith or not, there was this risk even before this situation. The theoretical risk was always there. If suspicions of risk arise, of course, they are controlled," said Juansher Burchuladze.
