Igor Khovayev, the Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has been appointed Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
"Russia intends to contribute to the conclusion of a peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku. To this end, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Igor Khovayev will continue in his new position as Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for assistance in normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia," Zakharova said.
