A mourning ceremony is being held for senior lieutenant Orkhan Asgarov who martyred yesterday as a result of the armed attack on the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran, the capital of Iran, APA reports.
The mourning ceremony was organized at the house of the martyr in the Yeni Yasamal settlement.
Rizvan Asgarov, father of Orkhan Asgarov told APA that the body of his son is expected to be brought from Iran to Azerbaijan in the evening hours today.
He noted that the funeral ceremony will be held tomorrow and martyr Orkhan Asgarov will be buried in the II Alley of Honor.
Note that an armed attack took place at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran on January 27, 2023, at about 8:30 by Baku time. As a result of this vile attack, Orkhan Askerov, the head of the security service of the diplomatic mission, was killed while performing his official duties, and two employees of the Embassy were injured.
