The "Istanbul declaration" of the OSCE PA Silk Road Support Group conference was signed, APA’s Istanbul correspondent reports.
The document stressed the significance of stepping up cooperation on energy and food security as well as the activation of transportation corridors, taking into consideration the current regional developments of the countries represented in the Silk Road Support Group.
The "Istanbul Declaration" hailed that the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) and Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) had been successfully connected, calling it a crucial step toward the completion of the Southern Gas Corridor.
Additionally, it was noted that the possibility of supplying additional natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe will help to ensure the continent's energy security as long as the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector (ICGB) is continuously developed and put into service, bringing more natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe.
The Silk Road Support Group's member nations also praised the improvements made to the Trans-Caspian East-West Middle Corridor, which aims to maintain the connection between Asia and Europe.
In this regard, satisfaction was expressed with the development made in large-scale connecting projects such as the Baku, Tbilisi, and Kars railway, a crucial component of the East-West Middle Corridor.
