The Austrian government will announce the third coronavirus lockdown in the country later in the day, the new restrictive measures will begin after Christmas and last until January 18, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Under the upcoming lockdown rules, small businesses such as hairdressers will remain closed as well as schools, restaurants, and hotels until January 18.

Austria reported a record number of virus-related deaths today at 145 fatalities.
