The Institute of Molecular Medicine in Lisbon announced that it has developed the first protective mask capable of neutralizing the coronavirus, APA reports citing corona24news.
According to her, this is a highly effective reusable mask. The institute specified that the protective equipment was developed using a special fabric, which consists of several different waterproof layers. The tests carried out have confirmed the effectiveness of the product in protecting against coronavirus infection.
“The mask has an innovative coating that neutralizes the SARS-CoV-2 virus when it comes into contact with the fabric,” the institute said. “The effect that persists after the fabric is subjected to 50 washes.”
In Portugal, since the beginning of the spread of the coronavirus, almost 50 thousand cases of infection have been detected, and 1,712 patients have died. At the same time, about 35 thousand people have already recovered.
