Azerbaijan sends 45 power transformers and 50 generators to Ukraine

As a response to the appeals submitted by Ukraine, Azerbaijan send humanitarian aid consisting of basic electrical equipment to Ukrainian people for restoration of a sustainable supply of electric energy in the affected areas due to the existing situation, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

A truck convoy carrying the first part of 45 power transformers and 50 generators provided by "Azerenergy" OJSC departed today from the territory of Gobu Energy Junction with the participation of the ambassador of Ukraine to our country and representatives of "Azerenerji" OJSC. The weight of the mentioned cargo is 52.2 tons and it is transported by 4 TIR trucks. In order to fully deliver the humanitarian cargo, the total amount of which is approximately 1 million 422 thousand manats, it is planned to leave the second truck convoy in the next few days.

The total humanitarian aid provided by the Republic of Azerbaijan due to the crisis in Ukraine is nearly AZN 30 mln. Moreover, over the past 6 months, various agencies provided humanitarian aid services to the Ukrainian people. Thus. in total, about 90 Ukrainian children who suffered from the war and lost their family members were brought to our country for medical and social-psychological rehabilitation. School #12, named after Zarifa Aliyeva, which was destroyed as a result of military operations in the city of Irpen was completely restored, and various humanitarian measures were implemented.
