In accordance with the report of the UN, about 7 thousand people have died and injured in a mine explosion over the last year, more than 100 such cases have been registered in Azerbaijan in the last 1 and a half years, said Vladanka Andreeva, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan while delivering a speech at the international conference on the topic of humanitarian demining activity held in Baku, APA reports.
Andrayeva noted that it is also important to supply those dealing with the demining works.
"As UN, we will continue to stand by Azerbaijan that every woman, child, man can safely live in their own home". she said.
