There have been reports that Armenia allegedly fired a missile at a church in Shusha, a historical city in Azerbaijan. We have great respect for the sensitive parts of Christians around the world in this regard. But, unfortunately, it should be noted that Armenia is manipulating and misinforming on this issue. The materials provided by Armenia in connection with the rocket attack on the church are contradictory and clearly false," Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration said, APA reports.

According to him, church and other civilian facilities are not targeted by the Azerbaijani army. During that period no fire has been conducted by Azerbaijani armed forces in that direction: “Secondly, if there was rocket blow, the icons inside the church would have been seriously damaged. But the photos show that the icons have not been damaged. Third, Armenia first claimed that the blow was allegedly fired from an F-16,  an aerial bomb, and then claimed that it was a missile strike. There is no F-16 planes in the inventory of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

As it is seen, each time when their lies are exposed, they started to resort to new fabrications.

This case is the next provocation of Armenia, the attempt of an information attack against Azerbaijan. It is unacceptable to cover up with religion Armenia’s ongoing military aggression against Azerbaijan.

Armenia wants to cover up the policy of destroying the material and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the destruction of mosques and religious monuments with this. A rocket has been inflicted on the mosque in Beylagan city and the Imamzade complex in Ganja city.

The Republic of Azerbaijan has carried out a restoration project of Christian religious monuments in many places of the world as well as in the Vatican. We once again express our respect and sympathy to all Christians in the world.

After our lands are liberated from the occupation, all cultural and religious monuments will be restored in accordance with their purpose.
