“French Senate’s decision on Nagorno-Karabakh will remain as a recommendation for the government,” said Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, the known resolution of the French Senate was largely dictated by differences of opinion between Paris and Ankara: “It may sound paradoxical, but I have a doubt that the decision of the French Senate is also related to Turkey, understanding the sincere feelings of our French colleagues.”
Konstantin Kosachev noted that the Senate's decision is nothing more than a demonstration for now: “Adoption of the mentioned initiative as a recommendation to the government will remain as a recommendation. Maybe it is better - as a result, the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh should remain, first of all, the subject of bilateral Azerbaijani-Armenian political dialogue. Without ultimatums and without power scenarios.”
