Armenia does not want to take over the bodies of servicemen and citizens, Secretary of the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Ismayil Akhundov told journalists, APA reports.

He noted that Azerbaijan reaffirmed its commitment to international humanitarian law, as well as the requirements of the Geneva Convention, and reaffirmed its humanist position after the Moscow Declaration on a humanitarian ceasefire between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At a meeting with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan on October 12, the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Ismayil Akhundov unilaterally proposed to hand over the bodies of 30 Armenian servicemen and two civilians - residents of Hadrut - Babayan Yevgeniya Pavlovna, 85, and Melkumyan Misha Merlandovich, 85 left helpless when the Armenian military withdrew from the occupied territories. After that, other authorized representatives of the State Commission made several proposals in this regard during the meetings with the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, but the other side did not respond to this humanitarian mission. This is not only disrespectful to the norms of international humanitarian law, but also a demonstration of Armenia's inhumane attitude towards its citizens.
