Aydin Aliyev meets with US ambassador to the WTO Peter Allgeier

The Committee press service told APA that Mr. Aliyev briefed the guest about economic growth in Azerbaijan, saying the customs bodies has three direction in their activities: conformation of the customs-tax policy to the world practice, fighting piratical and counterfeited goods, control over imports and exports.
He also touched on the proposals on reduction of the customs tariffs.
â€œOf course, every foreigner wants to export much. But, Azerbaijan takes serious its own interests in these issues,â€? he said.
Mr. Aliyev also said that special labs were created in order to control the quality of goods.
Peter Allgeier said the USA supports Azerbaijanâ€™s accession to the WTO and is ready to do the best to this process. Peter Allgeier expressed his satisfaction with the activities carried out to defend intellectual property, fight counterfeited goods and increase of customs duties. /APA/
