Azerbaijan to increase minimum amounts of pensions, benefits, scholarship, and other social payments

Social defense and social provision of the people, who have low income, who are poverty-sensitive, who are disabled, as well as children under 18 with limited health opportunities, should be strengthened at the expense of a more effective and fair social provision system, it was reflected in the "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development” which approved by President Ilham Aliyev today, APA reports.

According to the National Priorities, to this end, a decent level of the minimum amount of pensions, benefits, scholarship, and other social payments should be achieved in the country. The financial sustainability of the pension provision system must be strengthened for its long-term development, the proportion of the pension amount to paid insurance fee should be increased.

Social rehabilitation infrastructure should be accessible for people with disabilities as well as children under 18 years old with limited health opportunities, employment support programs for these people should be expanded, social security should be strengthened. Social services system meeting the interests of socially vulnerable population groups, creating equal participation opportunity for them.
