Import of poultry products from North-East England to Azerbaijan restricted

Highly pathogenic (HP) avian influenza has been registered in the North-East of England and in the Pleven administrative districts of the Republic of Bulgaria, AFSA told APA.

Regarding this, taking into consideration of zoning principle in accordance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code (the Terrestrial Code), a temporary restriction has been imposed on the import of poultry and poultry products from North-East of England and in the Pleven administrative districts of the Republic of Bulgaria.

At the same time in order to strengthen control measures, an appeal was made to the State Customs Committee for taking relevant measures regarding vehicles coming from or transiting through the United Kingdom and the Republic of Bulgaria.
