Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov met with delegation led by Saif Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on May 30, APA reports.
Sincerely greeting the guests, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov gave detailed information about the activity areas of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), as well as works being done in the direction of preventing and eliminating the consequences of emergencies in Azerbaijan. In this framework, proudly noting that under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the glorious Army of Azerbaijan liberated its ancestral lands occupied by Armenia for nearly 30 years, and restored Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, the minister talked about the demining activities carried out by the forces of the MES in the territories liberated from occupation.
Highlighting the close cooperation between Azerbaijan-UAE, the minister emphasized that there are good opportunities for expanding the relations between the two countries' respective emergency response agencies.
Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) of UAE conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of Independence Day of Azerbaijan. He noted the importance of further expansion of the relations of the appropriate agencies on emergency management within the existing high-level cooperation relations between Azerbaijan-UAE.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
