A photo exhibition “Journey to Azerbaijan”, devoted to May 28 – the 99th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, opened in Paris.
Members of the French Parliament and Senate, local journalists, businessmen and diaspora representatives joined the opening of the exhibition co-organized by the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan House in Paris, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora told APA.
Mirvari Fataliyeva, Secretary General of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan, Chairperson of the Paris-based Azerbaijan House told about the objective of the exhibition and introduced the authors of the photos.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbeyov spoke about the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, stressing the importance of May 28 for the country.
President of the French Association of Friends of Azerbaijan Jean-François Mansell noted that friendly ties between Azerbaijan and France are further expanding and Azerbaijan is known in France thanks to such events.
The photos by Azerbaijani photographers Vugar Ibadov, Etibar Jafarov and Karim Abbasov are on display at the exhibition. The photos mainly reflect the diverse nature and rich architectural heritage of Azerbaijan.
The exhibition will be open until May 31.
