“We have signed very important legal and normative documents,” said Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Samir Poladov in his speech at “Second Karabakh war and mines” webinar, APA reports.

He said that it also includes standards: “National standards against mines have been developed. Along with this, coordination mechanism of all sides participating in demining process was also developed. ANAMA organization is currently experiencing a difficult and complicated period. We do our utmost in order to meet needs on demining. Numerous companies have an interest to conduct work and activity in Azerbaijan. Coordination work for activity of these companies and organizations in the future is important. There are several risks in mine-contaminated areas. These mines are mainly various types of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines produced by Russia and Armenia. We come across very rarely only one type of mine. Mixed mines were planted in many places. As there are numerous shrapnels, neutralizing them becomes difficult. A large number of unexploded ordnance is also an additional problem.”
