“Actually, yesterday, I presented books regarding Nizami. The 880th anniversary of Nizami is celebrated this year. This year has been declared the "Year of Nizami" by my decision. This comes from our respect for the great Azerbaijani poet,” Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev said at the 8th Global Baku Forum under the motto "The world after COVID-19” Organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, APA reports.

The head of the state noted that this forum is a prestigious event: “However, I would like to touch upon some issues here. First of all it is due to the pandemic. Because, it is a number one issue on the global agenda. We talked about the pandemic, post-pandemic period. Even it is not much clear wheter we entered post pandemic period or not. Because different countries demonstrate various approaches. However, from the beginning, from the first days such a disease and crisis started, Azerbaijan worked very actively both within the country, and at international level. We, this year, from January 18, are one of the first countries in the region, that could vaccinate more than half of population over 18 years old- about 60% of population with two doses of vaccine. We opened 13 new state hospitals and established these institutions with almost nearly 4000 bed potentials. Currently, a large number of people suffering from the pandemic are provided with service. Currently, the pandemic is under control. The only restriction is to wear masks inside buildings. We can keep this situation under control.”
