IOC disclosed that test competitions for Olympiad came under question

The test tournaments for 2022 Winter Olympic Games to be held in China’s capital of Beijing may not be held, website reports.

This has been disclosed by the Coordination Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

It has been stated that the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions imposed on movement citizens between countries, the quarantine measures and the visa requirements may create obstacle to travels to China of the athletes, as well as officials to China during 2020-2022 season. The Organizational Committee of Beijing-2022 continues negotiations with IOC and international federations in connection with seeking for the ways of organization of the test competitions. 


A comment has also been noted in the commission’s report regarding preparation for the Olympiad. Despite of the coronavirus, it is stated that the preparation for Beijing-2022 is continued on a scheduled basis.
