As a result of joint search operations conducted by the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Turkish special services, Adilov Saleh Valeh, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 36, declared wanted, was detained and brought to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

According to Azerbaijani State Security Service, in 2008 Saleh Adilov together with other members of a religious radical group attacked the army post of a military unit in Tartar region, killing one soldier, seriously injuring another and stole weapons.

After evading criminal responsibility, Saleh Adilov left Azerbaijan for the Islamic Republic of Iran on May 14, 2009 to join illegal armed groups operating outside the country, and from there smuggled to the North Waziristan Province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to join the Taliban. He joined a terrorist group led by Vugar Hajizade, which operates under the auspices of a terrorist organization.

After Hajizadeh was killed by the international anti-terrorist coalition in 2010, the group was led by Saleh Adilov. In 2014, he was arrested by local law enforcement in Iran while trying to travel secretly to Turkey and then to Syria through the Taliban terrorist organization. After his release in 2019, Saleh Adilov illegally crossed into Turkey and hid there.

A criminal case is underway against Saleh Adilov.
