Man, who exploded grenade in Azerbaijan's Tartar, committed suicide - OFFICIAL

Man in whose hands grenade exploded in Tartar committed suicide, APA reports quoting a joint statement by the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Prosecutor General’s Office.

It is stated that officers of Prosecutor’s Office and Police Department reviewed the scene and dead body, took material evidences related to the case and conducted other necessary processual activities based on the information for August 29, received by district prosecutor’s office regarding the death of Tartar district resident Elmir Huseynli, born in 1994 due to injuries he got as a result of explosion of hand grenade which he obtained from unknown sources.

A criminal case is initiated based on 125th article of Criminal Code (bringing to suicide) of Azerbaijan regarding the fact.

Witness statements were taken from family members, neighbours and other persons related to the killed person.

After the primary investigation it is revealed that E.Huseynli after returning from wedding ceremony in drunk condition threatened to explode himself with hand grenade obtained from unknown to investigation source; when his neighbour Fikrat Abbasov, born in 1967, approached him to prevent suicide Elmir Huseynli exploded himself and died in the scene, while F.Abbasov was taken to Barda District Central Hospital with critical body injuries.

Investigative actions regarding the case are underway.
