Baku – APA. Nearly 90 people are reported to have been killed in the west African state of Guinea during an opposition protest in the capital, Conakry, BBC reported.

The security forces fired live ammunition as about 50,000 demonstrators gathered in a stadium to protest against possible plans by the military leader, Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, to stand in presidential elections next year.

State television aired pictures of scattered debris in the streets and damage to shops and buildings which it reported had been looted by demonstrators.
