Azerbaijan gets 3% rise in wind power production this year

In January-March 2018 the production and services in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam made up AZN 516.7 million, up 0.7% by contrast to a year earlier.

Production in the water supply, waste treatment and processing sector dropped 3.5% to AZN 69.1 million.

In January-March 2018 Azerbaijan produced 6,122,800,000 kWh of energy, down 1.5% in comparison to 2017.

Of this, 338.9 kWh makes up water power, which is 0.9% less than previous year, 5,541.3 kWh is heating power production, down 0.8% by contrast to 2017.

Wind power stations produced 6.2 kWh of energy, up 3.3% from previous year. Solar power production decreased 28.7% to 7.7 kWh.
