Christian Stohal met with justice minister Fikret Mammedov and general prosecutor Zakir Garalov

Director of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Christian Strohal met with justice minister Fikret Mammedov, Justice Ministryâ€™s information service told APA.
The minister gave the director information about fundamental democratic reforms, activities to ensure supremacy, human rights and freedom. He also told the guest about the improvement of court and democratic and transparent selection of judges. Fikret Mammedov pointed out the significance of cooperation with the Council of Europe, OSCE and other international organizations in this field. Christian Stohal positively regarded the activities for trustworthy protection of human rights. The director stated that the OSCE will continue to support the democratic processes in Azerbaijan. The improvement of the bar institute, education of judges and justice officers were discussed at the meeting.
Christian Stohal also met with general prosecutor Zakir Garalov. The improvement of complaint consideration mechanisms and judicial reforms were discussed at the meeting. Christian Stohal highly appraised the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE. /APA/
