Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko urged on Friday a full evacuation of the city amid Russia's military activities in that area, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"We need only one thing — the full evacuation of the population. About 100,000 people remain in Mariupol," Boychenko said in a televised statement.
His remarks came after Russia claimed it has taken control over Mariupol. Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated his country's forces remain present in the city.
