“Turkiye has taken several steps in the direction of the war in Ukraine not to spread to wider areas and reducing the tension,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the Bucharest forum, APA reports.

“For instance, we have a serious role in agreeing on the Istanbul "Grain Agreement", retaining the process and prolonging the term of the treaty ad you know that it was not an easy process. As erll as the exchange of prisoners of war, holding meetings for the parties in Turkiye for negotiations, and diplomatic discussions etc.- all of these are some of the samples of works we had done and Turkiye’s role. Along with these, we have other steps taken confidentially.

We prevented military clashes in the Black Sea by introducing Montreux agreement, and no warship has passed through the strait since March. No Russian military aircraft have flown to Syria over Turkiye. We call on all parties, but we call on Russia and Belarus to exercise restraint by all means," said the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Çavuşoğlu noted that besides Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and other partners are also paying the price in this war: "It is impossible to solve the problem by just condemning, it is necessary to take action and ensure a fair peace. There is a need for just peace, especially for Ukraine. We are working on this, as Turkiye.
