Ukraine extends martial law

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has extended martial law in Ukraine until May 25, 2022, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced this on Telegram, APA reports citing Ukrinform.

"Today the parliament convened again. Again in the center of the capital. The voting on a number of important decisions took place... [bill No.] 7300 on extension of martial law for a month, until May 25," he wrote.

Zhelezniak added that this decision was supported by 300 MPs.

As reported, on April 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky registered in the Verkhovna Rada the bill, No.7300, "On approving the decree of the President of Ukraine ‘On Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine.’ The document extends the period of wartime in Ukraine from 05:30 on March 26, 2022 for a period of 30 days.
