Men's World Championships of International Boxing Association (IBA) kicked off in Tashkent, APA reports.
On the first day of the Championship, which was attended by 538 athletes from 107 countries, 2 members of the Azerbaijan national team entered the ring.
Umid Rustamov, fighting in the 57 kg category, faced Suleyman Samghouli (Morocco) in the 1/32 final. The fight ended with a 5:0 victory for Umid Rustamov.
Eldar Guliyev (92 kg) fought with Ahmad Alteymat (Jordan) in the 1/32 final. Since the match ended with the victory of the opponent, Azerbaijani representative said goodbye to the world championship.
