Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice: This year, 1253 people were prematurely set at conditional liberty

“In 2020, 1253 people have been early released conditionally”, said Saadat Bananyarli, Head of Azerbaijan National Group of the International Society of Human Rights, Coordinator of the Public Committee at the live broadcasting, dedicated to the public participation and transparency in the Ministry of Justice, APA reports.

S. Bananyarli said that according to the information as of the end of July, 983 of them are only those, who have been released during the pandemic: “Previously, 176 prisoners over 65 released under the Order of Mr. President. Alternative punishment ways have been started to be used, according to the Order of the President and it created a belief in those people, who committed offenses in our society in order to reestablish their lives.”
