National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released information on current weather condition, the Ministry told APA.
On February 7, weather condition changed as cold arctic air masses entered country territory from the Mediterranean Sea and Turkey at evening hours.
Temperature of weather has dropped by 18 degrees in comparison with the last day. While temperature was 22-25 degrees of heat yesterday in Baku (according to all meteorological observations, temperature was 23 degrees of heat in 2002 for the last time), 7 degrees of heat has been recorded at early hours of February 8.
According to the information for 12:00 p.m., amount of snowfall has been 6 mm in Khaltan, Giriz, Saribash, 5mm in Khinalig, 4 mm in Aghdere, 2 mm in Gadabay, and 1 mm in Dashkesen until morning of February 8. Height of snow cover has been 36 cm in Aghdere, 21 cm in Saribash (Gakh), 13 cm in Giriz, 12 cm in Khinalig, and 2 cm in Khaltan.
