Azerbaijani Ombudsperson meets with Armenian football players detained on border

Within the framework of the National Preventive Mechanism activities, the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to visit institutions, which persons cannot leave at their own will, without prior notice, APA reports.

The aim of the next visit of Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva and members of her National Preventive Group (NPG) was to monitor the conditions of detention in the facility, and the protection of the rights of the accused.

As part of the visit, which included doctors and psychologists of NPG, 3 people detained at the Lachin border checkpoint and arrested for 10 days - Alen Sargsyan, Vahe Hovsepyan and Levon Grigoryan were also received.
