Germany breaks record for number of COVID cases for two days in a row

In Germany on the morning of Thursday, January 13, 81,417 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, which is the highest daily increase in infections in the country since the start of the pandemic, according to Robert Koch Institute, APA reports citing The Guardian.

It is noted that a record rate of infection in the state is recorded for the second day in a row. So, over the past day in Germany, 80,430 positive test results for coronavirus were confirmed.

In addition, 316 more patients have died from complications of COVID-19 in Germany, raising the total number of deaths to 115,051.
