"Last year I visited the territories liberated from occupation. We witnessed the destruction by our own eyes. It was really a heartbreaking sight," said Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ahmad Sengendo, APA reports.
He said that beyond any doubt, these ruins had a great impact on the tourism potential of the region: "However, we have also witnessed the construction work carried out in a short time. I hope that the destroyed mosques and historical and cultural monuments in these territories will be restored soon, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the country's economy in terms of tourism. As ECO, we have always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The construction work is also esteemed by Muslim countries."
