Azerbaijani police detains Iranian drivers who illegally entered country through Gorus-Gafan road, MIA says

Armenian media outlets have disseminated reports that Azerbaijani police has detained drivers of two trucks coming from Iran through the Gorus-Gafan highway, APA reports.

Chief of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Ehsan Zahidov told APA that the detained drivers entered Azerbaijani territory illegally.

“Cars crossing illegally from Armenia to Azerbaijan were identified and detained by employees of MIA, State Customs Committee, and State Border Service. Relevant measures will be taken regarding the drivers of those cars in accordance with laws of Azerbaijan,” Ehsan Zahidov noted.
