Azerbaijan can produce “green” hydrogen

The potential of wind energy in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is evaluated at 150 GW, said the head of staff of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy Zaur Mammadov, APA-Economics reports.

“It is a very big figure and one of the efficient ways to use it is hydrogen production,” Z. Mammadov noted.

According to him, there are several types of hydrogen, but hydrogen called “green” (produced in renewable energy sources) is currently considered as an actual energy type. Azerbaijan is in a favorable position in this field because the country has energy resources and Azerbaijan has the ready infrastructure to European borders.”
