Coordinating Councils of Azerbaijanis in Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands-Belgium in Europe have appealed to international organizations in connection with the tragic incident in Kalbajar on June 4, 2021, State Committee on Work with the Diaspora told APA.

The joint statement of the Coordinating Councils was addressed to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Council of Europe, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other international organizations and the media.

The statement drew attention to the death of Maharram Ibrahimov, an employee of the Azerbaijan State Information Agency (AZERTAC), Siraj Abishov, a cameraman of the Azerbaijani Television, and Arif Aliyev, a deputy representative of the Kalbajar District Executive Power in the Susuzlug village and four people were injured as a result of the explosion of mines buried by Armenia. This terrible event was assessed as a tragic consequence of Armenia's disregard for international conventions and agreements reached, and its refusal to hand over mine maps to Azerbaijan.
