According to the joint statement of the Defense Ministry and State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, another provocation of Armenian armed forces in the direction of Armudlu village of Kalbajar district of Azerbaijan has been prevented, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
Armenian armed forces which intervened in Azerbaijani territory with about 40 servicemen have been removed from the territory of our country as a result of measures, taken by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan immediately and without the use of a weapon.
“Armenia's resorting to provocations continuously on the border between the two countries demonstrate that the country has purposefully taken steps to aggravate the situation in the region. We once again emphasize the inadmissibility of such provocations and stress the importance of resolving the existing discords on the border issue only through negotiations. Azerbaijan supports the launching of the process of delimitation and demarcation of the two-state borders. We call on Armenia to follow the principles of international law, refrain from unreasonably escalating tensions on the border, and end provocations at the border checkpoint,” the information reads.
