Well-known sportsman Aydin Ibrahimov died of coronavirus

Well-known sportsman, winner of many awards Aydin Ibrahimov died of coronavirus, his granddaughter Narmina Mammadova told APA.

A.Ibrahimov was recently infected with COVID-19 and was treated at the New Clinic. He reportedly died at the same hospital.

It should be noted that A.Ibrahimov is the world champion in freestyle wrestling, the first president of "Neftchi" football club, the bronze medalist of the 1964 Olympic Games, the world champion in 1963, the European champion in 1966, the USSR champion in 1964. He was awarded a silver medal in 1963, bronze medals in 1960 and 1967, and was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1965) and Honored Coach of the USSR. He was a member of the Dinamo society in Baku.
